Voice check

Choose your comfortable edges

Hold one relaxed low note, then one relaxed high note. Do not stretch or force. Each measurement listens for three seconds and rejects brief pitch jumps.

1 · lowest easy note

Sing a comfortable “aa” or hum. It should feel easy enough to repeat, not like your absolute lowest sound.

2 · highest easy note

Use a relaxed upper note with no neck pressure. A clean, repeatable note matters more than reaching high.

What Susadhya means

The name reflects steady practice that makes a difficult skill attainable.

सुसाध्य · Susādhya

Susādhya means attainable, practicable, manageable, or easy to accomplish.

su
good, well, or favourable
sādhya
something that can be achieved, completed, or mastered

Here, it expresses the idea that sur and voice control become achievable through patient, well-guided riyaz.

How to use Susadhya

A quick guide to assessment, practice, and the tuner.

1. Set a comfortable Sa

Use Find my Sa or tap the Sa chip. Choose a tonic that lets you sing low and high notes without strain.

2. Assess or practise

The assessment estimates your current working level and builds a plan. Quick Practice lets you choose an exercise directly.

3. Read the tuner

is exactly centred. A negative value is flat and a positive value is sharp. In Precise mode, aim to remain within roughly ±12¢ with a steady voice.

4. Hear the target first

Use Hear harmonium sample, then sing after it stops. Headphones reduce the chance that the microphone hears the reference instead of your voice.

5. Use the tanpura

The floating tanpura keeps your Sa and anchor notes sounding underneath practice. Set a low volume so it guides rather than masks your voice.

Start slow. Accuracy and ease matter more than speed.

Practice settings

Adjust how forgiving the pitch and hold checks are.

This changes the intelligent noise gate, not the detected pitch. Raise it only when quiet singing is repeatedly missed.

Keyboard: Space starts or pauses, R plays the target, N moves to the next note, and T toggles the tanpura.

Adaptive voice assessment

The score combines median pitch error, pitch variation, first-note attack, time to acquire each target, completion rate, octave errors, and microphone confidence. No audio leaves this device.
